Rata Road

Rata Road was an extensive 150m2 addition to the existing house. A key requirement was for the ‘new to tie into the old’. As well as relocating the garage this project included a bathroom, two bedrooms and a new living area. We handled the project management, took care of managing the outside trades as well as liaising with the engineers. The project was finished on budget and included a number of extras and amendments to the original plans including an upgrade to the insulation and a bathroom layout change with doors being moved.

The Complete Building Company work with an ‘open book’ policy. All trade invoices and staff time sheets are available by request throughout the project. Our philosophy is to work to the high standard in everything we do. We pride ourselves on our eye for detail and the ability to constantly maintain the highest levels of quality and workmanship.

All renovations have surprises. We prioritise open and honest communication with regular client meetings to ensure any unforeseen issues are handled as quickly and efficiently as possible with the result being a minimum of disruption to the budget and schedule.

Where the budget allows we recommend appropriate upgrades to existing plans. A higher grade of insulation, a change to the layout or a higher grade of cladding are all options we like to provide.

The Complete Building Company extensively renovated and extended our home in 2011.

Our home predates the 1930s so we were looking for a building company with the skill and experience to ensure the renovation maintained the integrity of the home, and we certainly found that in the Complete Building Company run by Mike Wickens.

From the design stage right through to completion, Mike was committed to ensuring that the 150sq metre renovation and extension would complement and add to the heritage feel of our existing home. Renovating these types of homes is always expensive so sourcing the best value material without compromising the overall design was imperative. Mike worked alongside us helping us to find that material and added a wealth of knowledge and experience to the process. We felt like he was as committed as us to bringing the project in on budget.

On site his staff were a pleasure to deal with, never without a smile and friendly hello and very respectful of what it meant for us as a large family living amongst a building site.

We are delighted with the finished product, the workmanship is top quality, the project came in on budget and on time and they left us with a home that we are incredibly proud of.
